Mandate
Osage Giving does what the Foundation cannot — small recurring assistance, emergency-relief disbursements, discreet support for community members and partner-family households, ceremonial-protocol gifts arranged through the proper hands. Where the Foundation is a public instrument with disclosure obligations, Giving is the standing private channel.
Programmes
- Emergency relief. Time-bounded assistance for members of the diaspora and partner communities facing acute need. Decisions within 48 hours where the case is clear.
- Standing households. Quarterly support for elder caretakers and households doing standing cultural work; arranged in confidence.
- Travel and convening. Travel costs for elders, scholars, and youth attending the In-lon-shka or other standing observances by invitation; routed through the Council.
- Ceremonial-protocol gifts. Arranged through the proper hands in coordination with the Tinker family delegate and the Council. Never publicised.
- Educational top-ups. Bridge support for Tinker Scholars and Institute Fellows where the Foundation’s formal grants do not cover full need.
Operating posture
- No publicity. Disbursements are not announced. We do not put names on buildings, programmes, or gifts.
- No quid pro quo. Giving creates no obligation, in either direction, beyond what is already standing.
- Audited internally. Every disbursement carries an internal record; aggregate totals are published in the Group’s annual review.
- Tax-status honest. Disbursements through Giving are not tax-deductible. Donors seeking deductible giving should route through Osage Foundation.
What we will not do
Public-facing campaigns. Naming rights. Recurring patronage arrangements that create dependency. Gifts that would compromise the recipient’s standing in their own community. Anything our general counsel will not put a name to in writing.
Engagement
Requests for assistance: request@osage.group — one paragraph on the need is enough; identity confirmed off-line. Donors who wish to add capacity to the programme: give@osage.group.
